Thanks to all of your help, we made Six Lies People Believe About Divine Healing rank number one in Pentecostal Christian Kindle books by around 5:00 pm Central Standard Time on Friday. The sales exceeded my own hopes and expectations and for that, I’m truly grateful for everybody’s help.
The first great source of encouragement to me was to see it show up in hot new releases for this category. When visitors land on the Bestsellers list for this category, the hot new releases are on the right-hand side of the Amazon.com store, giving my title more exposure. I was quite happy with just this exposure alone.
Various friends on social media and podcast guests such as SJ Hill who have larger platforms than I do were all kind enough to share the link to the Amazon page on the same day so as to help me jumpstart a little grassroots movement.
The goal was to have as many sales during a short window of opportunity as possible, to leverage the fact that Amazon determines and updates their best seller rankings every hour.
It worked. By the end of the day, enough copies had sold to make it not only crack the list but climb the top of it! I was shocked.
This picture above is from the bottom of the product details midway down the page before the customer reviews. The above photo represents how the book was doing Saturday morning, which at the original time of writing this blog post was the peak the book had reached. It has started slipping back out of the other two categories. The first ranking is for just Kindle books, while the 7th and 8th places in Charismatic and Pentecostal, respectively, are for all types of formats, not just electronic.
I am definitely honored and flattered by the positive reviews several of you gave me after reading a complimentary review copy prior to last week. I was worried I’d face an uphill battle with the cross-section of people who took a look at it for me, but it has definitely lit a confidence in me that I’m going into the next books with.
For indie authors, it’s very helpful to have honest reviews on the page for their book before a lot of traffic heads over to it. Even if the reviews were negative, I was hoping to have something there to help visitors know whether or not they wanted to buy it.
I’m already almost finished one more ebook tentatively called “Increase Your Faith” (Edit: the book has since been published and is live here) which will serve as a companion to the healing book and will focus more on receiving and building up faith and expectation in the hearer of God’s word. I’m also working on another one in the same series tentatively called “Lies People Believe About Speaking in Tongues.” I have not determined the number of lies that book will have, but there are a lot of lies people believe about speaking in tongues! (Edit: this book is also live, and has since been re-published with Destiny Image Publishers. Get a copy here.)
At any rate, I wanted to let followers of this blog and the Fire On Your Head podcast know how grateful I am for your help in this as I could NOT have done any of this without your help!
If you haven’t bought a copy yet, you can do so here. If Amazon.com isn’t your default store but you’re a customer in another country, it is not complicated to have that change when you proceed to purchase.
If you like the book and want to help spread the word using social media or your blog, please take a look at these ideas listed in my last blog post.
If you would like a complimentary copy for purposes of reviewing on your blog or other online publication, contact me at fireonyourhead (AT) stevebremner (dot) com and I’ll hook you up.
Blessings and fire on your head!
