This week’s episode of the Fire On Your Head podcast centers around a sample chapter from my new audiobook Nine Lies People Believe About Speaking in Tongues which is finally available on Audible, Amazon, and iTunes (edit: and Google Play Books, Kobo Audiobooks, Scribd (“free” with your monthly membership), Hoopla, Chirp, and many more.
As I contemplated which chapter of my book to make available as a sample, I got my hands on the Kindle book of a late man of God who taught that believers had to be completely sanctified before they could receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
This is a false works-based effort, and if it were true nobody would ever qualify for being able to receive the baptism!
The Bible says it’s with the help of the Holy Spirit we mortify the deeds of the flesh (see Romans 8:13) so why would God withhold Him from us in this capacity if need to get holy and kill our flesh through our own effort, first?
That’s like saying it cost one dollar to use the bathroom, but your wallet is locked in the bathroom.
Receiving the baptism in the Holy Spirit is so easy, it’s amazing how much we’ve complicated it. I felt Him tell me if I was going to make a chapter from this project available, it should be this one instead of a more “marketable” chapter I was thinking of.
I believe this episode today can help empower you to help people get filled and walk in the power of the Spirit as a witness for Christ.
