Greetings friends. I’ve got quite a different episode of the show for you today — unlike any I’ve recorded before.
No, not because every episode is unique and so of course it stands to reason that this one is too.
A number of months ago a listener of the show named David sent me an email through our Fire Press email account telling me he was a long-time fan and wanted to know if I would be interested in previewing a copy of a book by his pastor, who also is a long-time fan of the show.
Since I get a decent amount of e-mails from people wanting to know if I will write sponsored posts on my blog, or review their book or someone else’s, and 97% of the time my answer is no (for obvious reasons, like say, um, the content or subject matter has NOTHING to do with my blog or what my podcast listeners have come to expect) I almost ignored it.
But since David’s email was not only different — like it wasn’t a copy and paste job that clearly had been emailed to 50 other people as well as me — I thought I’d at least give it a shot. Carefully choosing my words to not promise anything I might not fulfill, I had a polite interaction with David and then when I finished reading what turned out to be an excellent book, he got me in touch with Pastor Shane.
Which leads to today: we chatted, and the pastor of Feast of the Lord Church and author Dr. Shane Wall shared lots of great insights. We started off sharing a bit about how today’s discussion came to be and the interesting details that led to us being introduced to one another.
Dr. Wall shared his heart for discipleship and seeing believers empowered to do the work of the Gospel themselves and not just follow a man on Sunday mornings. Then we segue into discussing is newly-released book, Understanding: All Success Is Attained By It.

If you enjoyed Pastor Shane’s voice, you’ll be pleased to know he narrated his book himself!
